Cody is a fifth year student at the University of Guelph, where he is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce's Real Estate Co-op program. He has most recently worked for Colliers International with their Capital Markets team. This opportunity has provided relevant experience in the areas of underwriting, due-diligence, and commercial real estate market research across Canada.

 

After four years of dedicating his time to URECC, Cody has now shifted his focus towards the RESA. He now has the responsibility to maintain relationships with the generous sponsors that have supported us over the years as well as develop new partnerships going forward. The RESA hopes to deliver value to those who support us through exposure to some of the top talent entering the real estate industry pipeline.

Isabel is currently in her third year at the University of Guelph. She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate program. This is Isabel’s first year on RESA and as Marketing Manager she is looking forward to growing student participation on campus. Additionally, she hopes to encourage networking with current students and industry professionals. 

 

Isabel has worked at Colliers International for two summers and has thoroughly enjoyed her experience. Upon graduation Isabel hopes to acquire international commercial real estate experience.

Adam Newell

Adam is a fourth year Real Estate student, and this will be his second year as a member of the RESA.  Vice President of Marketing, his role is to increase awareness and create a strong reputation for the Real Estate program both on and off campus.  He takes passion in contributing to the school community, which is why he is very exited to do so with such a great group of students.  Adam’s main goal in this position is to attract as many Real Estate students in the program as possible to events so they are able to to learn outside of the classroom as well as network with fellow students and industry professionals.

 

Adam has gained experience in the Real Estate industry by working in construction, Property Management and has spent the past two summers working as an Industrial Research Intern at Cushman and Wakefield. After graduating, Adam is looking to pursue a career in either the commercial sales or asset management area of the industry.

Nick Owsiany

Nick is a fourth year student at the University of Guelph, where he is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce's Real Estate program. He has worked in many roles within the real estate industry with firms such as Devencore and Cushman & Wakefield. He enjoys commercial brokerage as well as capital markets and hopes to a peruse a career in either upon graduation.

 

He first started with RESA two years ago where he served as an Events Manager. He then took his focus to URECC to develop relationships with industry leaders while generating funding for the event. Now being the President of RESA, he is determined to maintain relationships with generous sponsors while implementing strategies to connect those who support us with our talented and eager students.

Junelle Fisher

Junelle is currently in her 5th year in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate Co-op program at the University of Guelph. This year as Vice President of Events, Junelle is looking forward to planning informative, valuable and engaging events. She hopes to increase student participation and create a fantastic community from which students can continuously learn and build their professional network.

 

Junelle has worked at Coldwell Banker Neumann Real Estate for the past 8 months and will continue to work there throughout the school year. She has thoroughly enjoyed her experience thus far and values the opportunity to get to work with, and learn from a variety of agents in the office. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue with her current path and eventually pursue a career in commercial real estate.

Janie Stel

Janie is currently in her fourth year in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate program at the University of Guelph. She has most recently worked for the CLV Group and Value Connect through her co-op work terms. These experiences  provided her with the opportunity to work closely with Property Managers, Sales Professionals, Appraisers, Mortgage Brokers, Lenders, Credit Unions and other Fintech companies. Looking forward, Janie is aiming to pursue a career in the Financial Technology Industry. 

 

 

This is Janie’s second year on RESA and she was promoted from Event Manager to Vice President of Marketing. She aims to expand outreach to get more students involved and attending RESA events. This will allow for more students to network and create new relationships with industry professionals for career development.

Jeff is a fourth-year Real Estate student at the University of Guelph. As Director of Finance he is excited to establish and maintain relationships with professionals across the Real Estate industry.

Jeff spent his last internship working in finance at IBM Canada and is currently completing the Real Estate Salesperson program. Upon graduation, Jeff will be looking to pursue a career as a Commercial Real Estate sales representative.

Mercedes Weber

Mercedes is a fifth year Real Estate Co-op student at the University of Guelph. This is Mercedes’ first year on RESA. Filling the role of a Corporate Relations Manager, Mercedes is looking forward to networking and building connections with industry professionals. 

Mercedes recently completed her fifth co-op term this past summer working at Manulife on one of their real estate asset management teams, and will continue in this position throughout the fall working part-time. Upon graduation, Mercedes is aiming to achieve the AACI designation.

Zach is a fourth-year Real Estate student at the University of Guelph. Zach will be filling the role of Corporate Relations Manager and is eager to create relationships with industry professionals. Zach’s inventions are to add value at every capacity for both the Real Estate program, as well as partnered corporations.

 

Zach is currently working for Planet Realty Brokerage Inc. and has taken on the role of Sales Administrator in addition to a full class load. Upon graduation in April, Zach will look to continue his professional career at Planet Realty, dealing mostly with new condominium sales.

Sarah Dallan

Manager

Sarah is currently enrolled in her fourth year of the Real Estate and Housing major, at the University of Guelph. This is her first year in the association, working as the Marketing Manager of RESA. She is responsible for public communications and marketing social events.

 

Sarah has a great passion for the real estate industry, with hopes to be involved in residential development, on both the finance and design side. She has obtained three years of work experience in the accounting and finance field and is also working towards her Realtor’s license with an anticipated completion period of November 2020. At that point, she will then become a licensed Salesperson. She is also involved in design and decor, as she has helped with multiple interior design projects. Sarah’s applied experience in finance and design has allowed her to develop the necessary skills needed to take on this position and her planned future endeavours.

Sabrina Di Cosola

Sabrina is a third- year Bachelor of commerce Real Estate and housing co-op student. It is her first year on RESA and her goal as an events manager is to provide students with the opportunity to attend events, network and build valuable relationships with workforce professionals to enhance career opportunities. She is willing to put her skills to use in order to provide beneficial events not only for real estate students but all commerce students.

As a co-op student she has worked at Bell Canada on the real estate team alongside the asset managers for her first coop work term. She has also worked at Allied as a member of the Asset Management team assisting the asset management and the development team. Working at these companies has allowed her to gain new real estate knowledge that she is willing to share with the team, the students and the individuals attending the events.

Chanel is a fifth year student at the University of Guelph, where she is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce's Real Estate Co-op program. This is Chanel’s first year on RESA and she is excited to support meaningful networking between students and industry professionals. 

 

Chanel has gained industry experience through various co-op terms, including roles at BTY, Metrolinx and most recently Hydro One. Looking forward, Chanel is most passionate about obtaining international real estate experience.

Julian Ungar

Manager

Julian is a fifth-year Real Estate Co-op student with years of involvement with RESA, URECC and the real estate program.  His past co-op experience with Starlight Investments in private-equity real estate investment and asset management, as well as his time at Axio Financial selling structured products have led Julian to pursue a career in real estate investment.  

 

As president of URECC 2020, Julian has been primed to anticipate and organize alternative opportunities to in person events due to the ever changing landscape surrounding COVID-19.  As the manager of alumni relations, Julian looks to foster connections between current students and alumni, and enhance the learning opportunities for students of the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics.

Ayaan Kadiwala

Ayaan is currently in his fourth year at the University of Guelph. Pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Real Estate and Housing, this is Ayaan’s second year on the RESA team as the Alumni Relations Manager. Ayaan is looking forward to increasing student engagement in the program and help students take that first step out of school. By providing opportunities to network with industry leaders as well as alumni, he seeks to establish meaningful connections between students and industry leaders.

 

Having worked under various real estate developers over the past 3 summers and at Equitable Bank as a Commerical Intern in the large properties department this summer, Ayaan has a keen interest in sustainable real estate and affordable housing and that is precisely what he looks to get into after graduation. He is aiming to receive the AACI designation for real estate appraisal and then venture onto real estate investment and development.

Nelson is currently entering his fourth year in the Bachelor of Commerce Real

Estate program at the University of Guelph. This is Nelson’s first year on the RESA team and he is looking forward to building long lasting relationships with team and industry professionals in order to build up career opportunities and help people be successful.

 

Nelson has worked under land developers and home improvement companies in the past to help gain knowledge in the field in order to help pursue his career. Right now, his interests are in land development and real estate investment. As operating manager, Nelson is looking forward to collaborating with his fellow partner and team to deliver the best events and create strong networking groups for all Lang students.

Parker McGovern

Parker is currently in his fourth year at the University of Guelph. He Pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Real Estate & Housing and a minor in Project Management. This is Parker’s first year on the RESA team and he wishes to bring his insight and previous experience to the association. Parker has worked under project managers for the past few years in construction and development. He feels he can deliver clear vision and solid execution to any task at hand, all in hopes of benefitting anyone involved in RESA.

Being one of two operation managers, Parkers wish is to collaborate with his equal to ensure the best for other students who are also majoring in real estate. He wishes that fellow real estate students will feel well represented through this association and his peers will gain some direction, in terms of career path, through the events RESA can offer.
