Cody is a fifth year student at the University of Guelph, where he is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce's Real Estate Co-op program. He has most recently worked for Colliers International with their Capital Markets team. This opportunity has provided relevant experience in the areas of underwriting, due-diligence, and commercial real estate market research across Canada.

 

After four years of dedicating his time to URECC, Cody has now shifted his focus towards the RESA. He now has the responsibility to maintain relationships with the generous sponsors that have supported us over the years as well as develop new partnerships going forward. The RESA hopes to deliver value to those who support us through exposure to some of the top talent entering the real estate industry pipeline.

Isabel is currently in her third year at the University of Guelph. She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate program. This is Isabel’s first year on RESA and as Marketing Manager she is looking forward to growing student participation on campus. Additionally, she hopes to encourage networking with current students and industry professionals. 

 

Isabel has worked at Colliers International for two summers and has thoroughly enjoyed her experience. Upon graduation Isabel hopes to acquire international commercial real estate experience.

Adam Newell

VP, Marketing

Adam is a fourth year Real Estate student, and this will be his second year as a member of the RESA.  Vice President of Marketing, his role is to increase awareness and create a strong reputation for the Real Estate program both on and off campus.  He takes passion in contributing to the school community, which is why he is very exited to do so with such a great group of students.  Adam’s main goal in this position is to attract as many Real Estate students in the program as possible to events so they are able to to learn outside of the classroom as well as network with fellow students and industry professionals.

 

Adam has gained experience in the Real Estate industry by working in construction, Property Management and has spent the past two summers working as an Industrial Research Intern at Cushman and Wakefield. After graduating, Adam is looking to pursue a career in either the commercial sales or asset management area of the industry.

Angelo is a fourth year Real Estate Co-op student at the University of Guelph. As Manager of Corporate Relations, he is eager to create and maintain relationships with industry professionals, which in turn, will create countless opportunities for both students and employers. 

 

Angelo spent his last two work terms with Movengo Corporation, where he has had the opportunity to be a part of many exciting developments in his role as Junior Project Manager. He has also completed a work term in property management with CLV Group. Upon graduation, Angelo will look to pursue a career in land development and asset management.

Derek Tai

Derek is a Third year Real Estate Co-op Student. In the past, he has worked as a summer student at MPAC and has just completed his first work term at Polytainers Inc. as a finance intern. This is his second year on RESA, having previously been a Manager of Alumni Affairs.While he still has options before him, Derek is considering going into the appraisal field and as such, will endeavour to receive the AACI designation.

 

One of Derek's core tenets and passions in life is to aid others. As such, he walks into his role on the RESA with a determined heart; he looks forwards to helping to strengthen the bond between students and industry professionals and to really connect more of his fellow RE students with the industry as a whole.

Tyler is a fifth-year student at the University of Guelph, where he is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce's Real Estate Co-op program. He has been involved with URECC for the last 4 years in various roles and is now responsible for working with the RESA's sponsors to fund events and bring out industry leaders. 

 

He has completed several co-op work terms, with the most recent being at JLL on their Capital Markets team. Prior to this summer, he worked at Allied Properties REIT with their Leasing, Asset Management and Acquisitions teams, Cushman & Wakefield and First Capital Realty. Throughout his time working on co-op he gained extensive knowledge about the Toronto market and created valuable connections in the real estate industry.

Isabel has worked at Colliers International for three summers and has thoroughly enjoyed her experience. Her interest is in commercial real estate and she is looking forward to pursuing a career in it. Upon graduation Isabel hopes to acquire international commercial real estate experience.

As a Corporate Relations Manager, she will be able to contribute to her ultimate objective by creating and maintaining relationships with professionals in the industry. 

 

Victoria spent this past summer working for Colliers International as a Data Intelligence Associate Intern. She worked closely with the brokers in her office and met a lot of individuals in the industry. Victoria hopes to continue down the path of commercial real estate for the duration of her co-op terms.

Zach Ireland

Zach is a fourth-year Real Estate student at the University of Guelph. Zach will be filling the role of Corporate Relations Manager and is eager to create relationships with industry professionals. Zach’s inventions are to add value at every capacity for both the Real Estate program, as well as partnered corporations.

 

Zach is currently working for Planet Realty Brokerage Inc. and has taken on the role of Sales Administrator in addition to a full class load. Upon graduation in April, Zach will look to continue his professional career at Planet Realty, dealing mostly with new condominium sales.

Kevin is in his fourth year at the University of Guelph, where he is enrolled in the Real Estate program. As a member of the marketing team, Kevin seeks to use his skills from previous work experiences, to market events via social accounts and direct marketing. Kevin’s goal this year is to create and maintain as many business and personal relationships as possible and continue to learn more about commercial real estate.

 

Previously, Kevin has worked at RE/MAX as a right hand to the Broker of Record in Aurora, and he will use his skills learned to benefit this association as much as possible. Coming from a family in real estate, he has a large interest in the real estate industry. After graduation, Kevin would like to pursue a career as a commercial real estate sales representative, or in the asset management field.

Erica is a fifth-year Real Estate & Housing Co-op student at the University of Guelph. This is Erica’s first year on RESA. As a Manager of Marketing, Erica is responsible for public communications and marketing special events. 

Erica has gained experience in the Real Estate industry by completing 4 co-op terms at Adgar Investments & Developments Inc. While working at Adgar, she has specialized in issues and projects related to Sustainability and has developed a true passion for sustainability within the Commercial Real Estate industry. Janie Stel

Manager

Janie is currently in her third year in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate program at the University of Guelph. She has most recently worked for Value Connect in Digital Appraisal Management. This provided her with the opportunity to work closely with Appraisers, Mortgage Brokers, Underwriters, Lenders, Credit Unions and other Fintech companies. Janie is now a member of WIMI “Women in the Mortgage Industry” and has built many relationships in the process with industry professionals. Looking forward, Janie is aiming to pursue a career in the Financial Technology Industry. 

 

This is Janie’s first year on RESA as Event Manager and she aims to stress the importance of networking for career development to students. Her contribution to facilitating successful events will allow students to more effectively network and create new relationships with industry professionals.

Ayaan is currently in his third year at the University of Guelph. Pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Real Estate and Housing, this is Ayaan’s first year on the RESA team. Being the Alumni Relations Manager, Ayaan is looking forward to increasing student engagement in the program and help students take that first step out of school. By providing opportunities to network with industry leaders as well as alumni, he seeks to establish meaningful connections between students and industry leaders.

 

Having worked under various real estate developers over the past 3 summers, Ayaan has a keen interest in sustainable real estate and affordable housing and that is precisely what he looks to get into after graduation. He is aiming to receive the AACI designation for real estate appraisal and then venture onto real estate investment and development.

Liam is a fifth-year Real Estate Co-Op student at the University of Guelph. As a co-op student,Liam offers a broad range of relevant industry experience. His most recent term was spent with Allied Properties REIT as a member of the Asset Management team. He also has experience with CLV Group / InterRent REIT as a Site Operations – Student Intern and with the Canadian Federal Government as a Valuations Analyst in the Real Property division.

 

This being Liam’s first year as a member of RESA, his goal as the Operations Manager is to ensure his fellow Real Estate peers are well represented in both the industry and around campus by offering select Real Estate focused attire
